Wirral Mental Health Support Team Offers Free Summer Wellbeing Workshops for Children

Wirral Mental Health Support Team (MHST), which currently supports all primary schools and eight mainstream secondary schools across the borough, is offering a series of free wellbeing workshops for children during the summer holiday period.

These sessions are designed to help children develop practical mental health skills in an accessible, non-clinical environment. Attendance does not constitute a referral into MHST or Children and Young People’s Mental Health Services, and no health record will be created.

Workshops to Strengthen Emotional Resilience

There are five standalone workshops in total. Children may attend one or multiple sessions, but each must be booked independently.

The first in the series—Workshop 1: My Mighty Mind—focuses on introducing children to the concept of mental strength and emotional wellbeing. Children will explore:

  • The role of the mind in shaping thoughts, feelings, and behaviours

  • The importance of mental self-care and emotional awareness

  • Positive emotions such as pride, gratitude, and joy

  • Recognising and responding to times when the mind doesn’t feel strong

  • Practical "mood boosters" to support wellbeing during low moments

This session aims to empower children with tools to build resilience and support their mental health in everyday life, alongside their parents, carers, and peers.

Open Access and How to Book

The workshops are open to all children attending Wirral primary schools and the eight participating secondary schools, regardless of previous involvement with MHST.

Each session must be booked separately.
