Professionals working with children, young people, and families are being encouraged to promote the upcoming Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme, which will once again be coordinated by Edsential on behalf of Wirral Council, funded through the Department for Education.

The HAF programme continues to play a significant role in supporting children and young people during school holiday periods by providing access to a wide range of enriching activities, nutritious meals, and opportunities to develop social connections in safe and supportive environments. Activities are delivered through local providers across Wirral and are designed to help reduce holiday inequalities while promoting wellbeing, physical activity, and community engagement.

The programme remains a valuable resource for practitioners working across education, youth services, health, family support and the voluntary sector. By signposting eligible families to HAF provision, professionals can help ensure children and young people have access to positive holiday experiences that support both their personal development and wellbeing.

In addition to coordinating holiday provision, Edsential continues to support current and prospective delivery organisations through a range of free training opportunities available via its Providers' Portal. These sessions are designed to help organisations meet Department for Education requirements and enhance the quality of their provision for children and young people.

Edsential has also recognised the contribution of local providers in delivering successful HAF programmes across Wirral, highlighting the positive impact that collaborative working continues to have on children, families, and communities.

Professionals are encouraged to share information about the Summer HAF Programme with eligible families and partner organisations to maximise awareness and participation across the borough.
