Asda Foundation Offers £20,000 Grants to Enhance Community Spaces in Wirral and Merseyside
The Asda Foundation has launched its 2025 Local Community Spaces Fund, providing grants of £10,000 to £20,000 to charities and not-for-profit organisations in Wirral, Merseyside, and across the UK. This initiative targets organisations managing community spaces, such as youth clubs, amateur sports clubs, village halls, and groups like the Scouts, Guides, and Cadets.
With a total fund of £1.25 million, approximately 70 projects will benefit. The programme supports repairs, renovations, or development of accessible community spaces to foster social interaction and deliver essential local services. This responds to growing concerns about loneliness and social isolation, as identified in the Foundation’s Community Insight Survey.
Eligible projects include essential repairs, renovations to enhance functionality, creation of new facilities, and accessibility improvements. Organisations must have an annual income below £250,000 and manage an existing community space. Priority will be given to those demonstrating financial stability, a history of community engagement, and service to economically challenged areas.
Applications must be submitted by 10am on 28th May 2025, though the fund may close earlier if oversubscribed. Organisations should complete the eligibility check on the Asda Foundation website to access the application form: https://asdafoundation.org/our-grants/local-community-spaces-fund/. Funding decisions will be announced by September 2025, with projects to be completed by December 2026.
This is a vital opportunity for Wirral and Merseyside community leaders to secure funding and enhance spaces that tackle social isolation and strengthen local services. Apply now to make a lasting impact.
